Description
Symmetries are fundamental properties of physical world, also in nuclear physics. During the seminar the main features of these symmetries and possibility of their observations are discussed. Some properties of energy spectra and electromagnetic transitions are analyzed. A special type of hidden symmetries, called partial symmetries, seems to provide an alternative approach to spectroscopic classification of nuclear bands.
