4th GOSIA Workshop

Europe/Warsaw
Heavy Ion Laboratory University of Warsaw

Heavy Ion Laboratory University of Warsaw

Pasteura 5A 02-093 Warsaw Poland
Description

Five years after holding the previous GOSIA Workshop it is time to bring together the community of present and potential GOSIA users again.

Coulomb excitation is a well-established experimental method used by many scientific collaborations all over the world. Interest in this experimental technique has increased thanks to successful experimental campaigns at radioactive beam facilities and  new results on the structure of stable nuclei.  The complexity of experimental set-ups used to study new regions of the nuclear chart has resulted in previously unknown challenges in the data analysis.

The 4th GOSIA Workshop will be held at the Heavy Ion Laboratory, University of Warsaw, on 27-30 March 2023. It will provide veteran GOSIA users with an opportunity to present recent achievements in Coulomb-excitation data analysis and allow newcomers to the field to get an introduction to this method, as well as to discuss with more experienced colleagues problematic points in their analyses .
The first half of the meeting will be devoted to a "hands-on" GOSIA training session.
The second half will be focused on the following topics:
• GOSIA in everyday use (recent sophisticated solutions and questions on the current analysis)
• future plans and necessary developments.

We welcome suggestions of topics that could be addressed during the „round-table” discussion concluding the Workshop.
